My thoughts shape my future
“Don't explain your philosophy. Embody it.”
(Epictetus)
Voiceless memories, unspoken emotions, imagined anxieties, black-and-white fantasies, flows of gray thoughts whirl around me, blurring my days, storming my nights. They are silently spreading their roots in my soul, growing taller and taller, casting their shadow upon me, blocking the light.
But I am raging against the dying of the light. I am finding my way out of the dark forests. I discover me.
My past, my present, my future are written on my body, inscribed on my skin, carved on my soul. By me. I read my past, I write my present, I carve my path. My thoughts shape my future.
Because I am the Author Of Me. I am constantly (re)writing me; I am a work in progress. I am becoming myself.
“Τίς εἶναι θέλεις, σαυτῷ πρῶτον εἰπέ: εἶθ' οὕτως ποίει ἃ ποιεῖς.
First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do.” (Epictetus)
